Events

We are fortunate to live in a community that offers quite a selection of activities.  To make it easier for you to find the one that interest you, we offer you various ways to go about finding the right event.

In the menu you can select whether you would like to look at ongoing (that is weekly, twice-a-month, monthly, etc.)  events  or at a calendar which shows all events by day.  All events also are categorized.

Most events have been taken over from the printed "Upriver News".  We would like to request the organizers to send the additional information by e-mail as soon as possible in order that this whole section provides better information, easier contact to interested parties and that it looks more professional.  While the information is ok for the printed newsletter as it is, some of it is just awful for the internet.  This makes a terrible impression.  Our apologies to the visitors of upriver-news.ca.

If informed by the organizers, we will also attempt to inform you of any cancellations.  So please check before you leave.

Attention Event Organizers

Please inform us early of any events you have planned by mailing the notice to events*upriver-news.ca. One e-mail is sufficient for both the print and online editions as these e-mails are distributed to Tina and Armin automatically.

We try to publish in the calendar all future Upriver events known to us.  Please check before setting the date for your event that there is no real conflict, i.e. it would not make sense for the fire fighters and the church of a community or even neighbouring communities to have separate fundraising dinners on the same day - both would have much reduced proceeds. 

When you provide the information to us, please provide a description of the event.  It can not only be more detailed than that hitherto published in the printed newsletter (another advantage of the internet), it actually should be.  Alos please include your name (or the name of the contact) as well as the telephone number and e-mail address of the person, in case there should be questions by somebody reading the announcement. 

Please also inform us of cancellations.  We will try to publish them, if at all possible, in time that your guests will not need to come out in vain.
